The Engagement Incubator (EI) is part of the Engagement Community of Enquiry at Te Pūnaha Matatini, led by Rhian Salmon. Central to the incubator concept is that — unlike a workshop that you might attend to gain new skills without prior thinking — participants in the EI have to have an engagement project in mind to bring with them. The scicomm laundromat has been the toolkit that we have used to develop the engagement projects in the EI so far.

Not all EIs have to be laundromats, not all laundromats have to be EIs. But, frequently, Te Pūnaha Matatini EIs have been laundromats!

We have used the laundromats to deliver the EI programme for Te Pūnaha Matatini, and have honed, tested and iterated the tools through this process.
